All tagged Joy alone
Dragon Little slept for a few hours. She slept on the highest leaf of one of the trees in the forest of the Land of the Giants. Her body was black and blue all over, and she had not eaten or drunk for a day and a half.
She woke up with a start when the wind returned. When Dragon Father returns to the dream, the wind returns with him.

It did not matter how many giants he conjured and beat up, none of them could tell him where his daughter was. They came from his mind, after all. They were his dreams. If he did not know something, then neither did they.
That ist some of what I have learned from living centuries in others’ dreams.

And then a giant was hurled from the depths of the farther part of the forest, past the treetops, and into the air.
He flipped around in the air helplessly, then collapsed back into the trees.
The ground shook when he landed.

No! Dad! Over here! No!” Dragon Little shouted at Bonny’s Revenge as it flew down and into the giants’ forest.
She was lost in the forest of the forest of the giants. Her father had missed her and went to look for her in the wrong place.

She moaned and stretched her body on the giant leaf she had been lying on, in the giant forest, in the Land of the Giants. Bonny’s Revenge had been swatted like a fly by Ymir the Angry Giant, while Dragon Little and Dragon Father were still in it. It had been too fast for me to do swoop in and save her. And it was a miracle she hadn’t died.
I would not like to see her die, but I did think and still do that it may save her years of pain in which she would wish she was dead.

Bonny’s Revenge hung above the forest in the giant’s world. Dragon Father, now visibly panicked, was looking over the wooden railing and calling, “Joy! Joy!” at the forest.
Not only did he not know where she was, he did not know if she was alive or dead.
He ran from side to side futilely, until he spotted Ymir the Giant, who had swatted them in the first place.
Dragon Father’s face twisted.
“Go away!” he said.
Ymir the Giant disappeared.

Ten Martian Ice Pirates ships sped towards Bonny’s Revenge. Dragon Little, only four and a half years old, was on it, her father having awoken just seconds ago, leaving his daughter to fend for herself alone in the Dream.
Dragon Little did not seem overly worried, and helmed the ship particularly slow, allowing the pirates to catch up.

Her head sunk for a second underwater, but she paddled hard, got it above water, and breathed.
She reached the rope ladder and grabbed it with all her force.
I could see what she was doing. She was teaching herself to swim.

I wanted to save Dragon Little the trouble. But I knew I shouldn’t. So many hardships awaited her in the future. She had to learn to be tough. It would be the only the only thing that would give her perhaps a few more years of life once she realizes the truth about who she ist and those who want to find her.
And then Dragon Father disappeared. And with him all of the fallen villains and their weapons.
Dragon Little (my little Joy) jumped up and down and cackled.
