“Ach! Ach!” Dragon Father jumped in place. “That’s disgusting! Who taught you to do that, because I didn’t teach you to do that!”
Dragon Little didn’t answer. She looked at him and put her finger in her nose again.

“I already showered,” she said quickly. Since a few months previously, they had a small shower next to her cabin, with a curtain and a showerhead permanently there. So it was possible for her to have done what she said. On the other hand, her hair, face, and neck were all full of dried goblin blood from yesterday’s battle.

“Decker…”
“Kedder…”
“No. Deck…”

“Surrender, girl!” he screamed at the top of his voice and aimed his sword at her face.
“You know what you have to say, Captain Badass!” she said, at all flustered by the threat. “Tweedle weedle dee!”
He hesitated. He looked around at his pirates. He probably suspected her of using some kind of ploy, but was comforted by the numbers. “Eh…. Surrender… Please?”

“They held them off at the border, fighting to the last feather. They held them off for the fifteen minutes we needed to regather our forces and to join the battle. By then they had died. But they had given their lives so that we all may live. They are heroes. A father cannot ask more than for his children to die in battle as they did.”
“Wow…” Dragon Little sounded speechless and awed.
Then, after a short silence, she said, “I want to die in battle.”

“That’s right. And who’s an amazing, amazing girl?”
“Me!”
“That’s right! And who’s funny and awesome and a great adventurer?”
“Me me me!”
“That’s right! Now let’s go get the bad guys!”
“Did you think my idea to save us was good?”
“Yeah, it was awesome.”
“Uh huh. And the part before, where we had to run?”
“I told you. It was awesome.”
“Uh huh. What, particularly, was especially awesome for you?”
She shrugged. “Everything.”
I could have told them. But I knew I shouldn’t. The longer it takes for Dragon Little to learn where she lives, the longer it will take her to learn who she ist, and the longer she stays out of harm’s way.
Even during their adventure battling evil aliens, he would take pictures of the fight with one hand and fight the aliens with his other.
Dragon Little would stop every time and demand to see what the picture looked like.
Dragon Little turned around to look. She saw the rope was no longer there.
“Dad!”
“Aaaaah!” His scream was getting more and more distant.
Bonny’s Revenge was parked a few kilometers above the ocean. Dragon Little, now tied to the ship, walked over to the plank, and climbed on it.
And then Dragon Father disappeared. And with him all of the fallen villains and their weapons.
Dragon Little (my little Joy) jumped up and down and cackled.
The wind swept him up into the eye, it spun him around quickly, and just as quickly plopped him down on his feet, where he had begun.
“Cool!” Dragon Little jumped. “Me too me too me too!”
