Justin opens the door. Joy hides behind Charlie.
Suzy looks at Walt. “It doesn’t matter. We haven’t seen her in months, so you better be excited to see her!”
Angela is in the doorway, holding 4-year-old Grace in her hands.
Suzy’s right. It doesn’t matter what happened or who Ethan is. I haven’t seen my daughter in months. In my mind, she’s still a teenager. What a woman she’d become!
“What’s up, fart-face?” Angela asks Justin.

Madelyn and Amahle appear on the deck of Bonny’s Revenge within minutes of each other. Amahle is in Johannesburg, as usual. Madelyn is back home in France. She keeps telling me which city she’s in, but I can’t remember. I used to remember everything, but now…There are facts that escape me.
In any case, their time zones are one hour apart, and apparently they’ve fallen asleep around the same time.
I look through the window in our living room and see Madelyn and Amahle talking to each other. Madelyn is with her regular wheelchair, not her flying one.
Joy comes out of the cabin and they talk to her.

“Grampa, Grandma! Want to help me put the Martian Space Pirates in prison?”
Suzy and I are sitting on the porch of our apartment on a small island in Justin’s dream, when Bonnie’s Revenge returns from adventure. Joy leans over the railing and shouts at us.
Joy, Charlie, Justin, and Master Mind had gone off on an adventure to find and imprison the Martian Space Pirates. Apparently, they’d been successful.
Suzy looks at me, then up at Joy. “Why, of course, we’d love to!”
