Getting closer to the land mass in this ‘Toronto Planet’, we see that the mass only includes one city: Toronto. It looks now just as it looks in the waking world from the air.
“Wow, is that where you live?” Joy leans over the railing. “It’s like a city we have adventures in!”
“Is it?” Justin looks at it sideways.
“What’s that?” she points to the highest tower.
“That’s that CN Tower,” Justin answers. “It’s been there since forever.”
Suzy raises an eyebrow. “Forever?”
“It was there before I was born, Mom, okay?”
“What’s it for?” Joy asks.
“Communication,” Justin says automatically.
“What’s that mean?” Joy asks again.
“Dad?” Justin looks at me.
“I’m not completely sure,” I say. “Television, radio, telephones, I guess, even before cellphones. I’m not sure.”
“Where should we park, where should we start our tour?” Justin asks.
I point down. “Thankfully, we’re near water, why don’t you dock next to the--”
“Go to your home, Dad! I want to see where you live!”
“Aye aye, captain!” Justin salutes and turns the wheel. “Wait, let’s take a little detour. Look outside, folks!”
We look over the railing and we see our house - the same house Suzy and I live in in Toronto and on the small island back on Earth’s ocean here in Justin’s dream. That is surreal.
“Whoa!” Joy says. “That’s where you really live? It looks exactly the same!”
“That’s right, Joy, we live exactly here,” Suzy says. I shake my head at her. “Oh, right. We’re still in the dream. But it is exactly the same.”
“Coooool!”
“And now we are reaching my apartment! This is a much shorter ride in Bonny’s Revenge,” Justin says. Bonny’s Revenge comes to a rest just a meter above the roof of the apartment building Justin lives in.
“We. Are. Here. Go slowly, don’t break anything!” Justin lowers the ramp, but holds up his hand. “Only Grandma and Grampa go down the ramp. The rest of us go down the old fashioned way!”
“Woo-hoo!” Joy jumps to stand on the deck.
“But Joy,” Justin keeps his hand up. “Whatever you do, don’t make Toronto stay…” but his voice dies down as, exactly on the word ‘Stay’, Joy lands on the roof and the entire planet glows a soft blue.
Justin sighs. “Shoot,” he says under his breath. Then he raises his voice in excitement, “All right! Let’s discover Toronto in the waking world!”
