“You put it on. It keeps you afloat. It helps you swim.”
Dragon Little waved it aside. “I don’t need it. I can swim.”
Dragon Little marched towards the wooden construct, then quickly made way towards the stairs that led into the sea.

Dragon Little almost laughed and caught herself. She kicked him again softly.
“Ow! Are you the strongest girl in the world?! Is that possible?! How are you hitting me that hard!”
She laughed now.

“Today, you failed in being a parent,” the villain continued.
“Well, thank you, General Hawk, for that amazing insight,” snarled Dragon Father. “I was really hoping to get parenting advice from a mass murderer!”

“Aaaaaah!” He shouted in real pain and jumped back. “What are you doing! Stop it! Why are you behaving like an animal?”
Dragon Little’s face was indeed like an animal, as she squeezed every muscle in her face and growled at him: “Grrrrrr!”

"Now I want to try,” she said.
“Not now,” he growled and fired the cannons.
She would ask him relentlessly, “Dad, my turn!” “Dad, I wanna!” “Is it my turn?”
“Wake the hell up, Joy, I don’t have time for this!”
He grabbed the blanket off her, threw it on the floor, and stomped out.
“Wake up, don’t wake up, I don’t care,” he strode angrily to the wheel. “I have a battle to win!”
“No!” Dragon Little raised her hand and pointed at him, her long blonde hair billowing in the wind behind her. “I have spoken!”
Dragon Father burst out laughing. “You have spoken?”
“I have spoken!” Dragon Little said with determination. “Teach me to swim!”
“But what if we—”
“Tut!” Dragon Little said importantly. “I have spoken!”
She scratched it against the mast. “Grrrrrrrrchhhhh!” she squeaked.
She scratched it, back and forth, against the railing. “Grrrrrrrrchhhhh!” she squealed.
“That’s right. And who’s an amazing, amazing girl?”
“Me!”
“That’s right! And who’s funny and awesome and a great adventurer?”
“Me me me!”
“That’s right! Now let’s go get the bad guys!”
Dragon Little looked at him, with eyes wide in fascination. “You called me Joy.”
“Yes. I decided on your name.” He sat down next to her, his back leaning on the railing. “When you were just born… Just this tiny, itsy-bitsy baby that just cried her first cry, that just took her first few breaths…”
I wanted to save Dragon Little the trouble. But I knew I shouldn’t. So many hardships awaited her in the future. She had to learn to be tough. It would be the only the only thing that would give her perhaps a few more years of life once she realizes the truth about who she ist and those who want to find her.
“You are hereby summoned to see the dreaded Dead Pirate!”
Dragon Father looked up and said, “Nope. Sorry. Busy.”
“I like being in a prison with you,” Dragon Little told Dragon Father after they played for half an hour.
Dragon Father crooked his head and looked at her.
“It’s fun. Can we do it more?”
The both of them were dragged to a prison cell where they were informed they would see the mysterious Dead Pirate of Dead Skull Island when he is good and ready.
It was only the first hour of the dream, and Dragon Father was not in any danger of waking up.
“I have to pee.”
“Go pee! But quick! We have to catch Captain Badass!”
Dragon Father continued, and: “Grrrrrrrrchhhhh!”
“Grreeeeeech?!”He tried to copy the high squeak but could not get close.
“Grrrrrrrrchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” she bent back in pleasure.
“Grrrrrrooooooch?”
“Grrrrrrrrchhhhh!” She grunted/squeaked.
Dragon Father unsheathed his own sword, “You just held a sword for the first time. And you were like this…” He let the sword throw him off balance and run one way. Then, trying to balance it, he ran the other way, always holding it above his head.
Dragon Little burst out laughing.
She stopped talking and decided to lie on the floor. “I’ll defeat you in a second,” she said.
“I’ll defeat you in a second,” the giant robot said.
Dragon Father grabbed his head with both hands. “I hate this day!”
“I hate this day!” came the metallic answer.
