‘The Squashbuckler Diaries’ are the daily tales of Joy Shelley’s Life in the Dream. The ‘Lost in Dreams’ books will tell the story of what happens to her at ages 6, 9, 12, 15, and so on. The diaries tell us what happens before, after, and between the books.

S02E307 Thirtieth, Part 7, Baby Madness

As Madelyn descends with her super wheelchair towards the convertible limo, Justin suddenly returns to normal size.

He cups his face in his hands. “This is so embarrassing,” he says.

“Dad, why’d you turn into a baby?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” he says quickly.

“Feeling better?” Suzy asks.

“Justin, can you help me down?” Madelyn says.

“Yes, Mom,” he says in a childish tone and stands up. He reaches up with his hands towards Madelyn.

“I don’t understand anything that’s happening,” Joy says.

Justin grabs Madelyn by the armpits and holds her. The super wheelchair disappears. “Wow, you’re light,” he says.

“No legs,” she reminds him. “Over on that seat.”

“Right. No legs.”

He puts her on the cushy seat with her back to the driver, facing the rest of us.

“Dad, what is going on?! Why are you creating so many babies?”

“Babies?” he looks around. The limo is filled with babies, all probably newborns or a few months old. Some are on the floor. The rest are on the empty seats.

“Oh my god!” Justin panics. “Did I do that? Why would I do that?”

“Justin, is there something you want to tell us?” Suzy asks.

Wow, I didn’t even think of that

“No!” he says vehemently. “Definitely not! I don’t think I did this.”

We all look at Madelyn. “Oh, I must take care of so many babies. All my friends are having babies today and I must take care of them. It is too many babies. Can you help me?”

I stare at her, as Suzy takes one baby and then another.

“What,” Joy exclaims loudly. “Is going on!”
