S02E56 The Zombie Horde, Part 4: Did I Miss Anything?
The four of us - Suzy, Master Mind, Joy, and I - all sit and stand in the tunnel for hours as Justin fights zombies below.
Master Mind and Joy are on the edge, looking down at the battle.
Justin keeps being overrun by more and more zombies, then kills them, then new zombies come, and so on endlessly.
Suddenly, hours in, the fighting stops and Justin looks around.
Joy sits up, more alert.
All the zombies vanish and Justin takes Bonnie’s Revenge to the skies, searching for something.
After a couple of minutes, he is clearly shouting something.
Then his voice reverberates throughout the dream: “JOOOYYYY! JOOOOY!”
Joy stands up and jumps up and down. “I’m here, Dad! In a sun!”
“JOOOOOYYYYY! JOOOOOOYYYY!”
Joy looks up at Master Mind. Master Mind uses his voice in a way that can be heard around the earth. “IN THE SUN, PIRATE!”
Bonny’s Revenge quickly reaches the sun. Justin makes sure the plank almost touches the entrance to the tunnel. We board the ship - Joy first, then Suzy an I get help from Master Mind walking on the wobbly plank kilometers above the ground.
“Oh, my god,” Justin runs to her and hugs her. “You’re all right! I was so worried the zombies got you!”
“Justin!” Suzy raises her voice.
Justin lets Joy go and looks at her, he looks like a child about to get told off. “Yeah, Mom?”
“Joy could have died today. We could have died today.”
Justin looks down. “I know.”
“You were obsessed today. You didn’t even think about her.”
His face grows red. “I know, Mom. I feel so bad about that, Joy.”
“He was an obsessed dreamer,” Joy steps in between Suzy and Justin, to protect her father. “It’s not his fault. It happens.”
“It doesn’t matter that it happens,” Suzy shakes her head. “It can’t ever happen again. Next time, she may not be so lucky.”
Justin turns his back to us. There are tears in his eyes.
“It happens!” Joy insists.
Justin turns back around and puts his hands on Joy’s shoulders. “It doesn’t matter that it happens,” he repeats what Suzy said. “It can’t happen.”
He wipes a tear from his eye and says. “We’ll find a way. Let’s find a way now.”
She nods. “Okay.”
Suddenly something flies in on a jetpack from inside the tunnel, and lands on the deck. It’s Charlie!
“Sorry I’m late,” he says with a smile. “I got distracted by my dream and I forgot about everything. What did I miss?”
Joy waves a hand, “Oh, nothing special. Want to play?”
Charlie wants to play. Justin helms the ship back down to the island.
