#391: The Mature Father, Part 2
“Planet ahoy!” Dragon Father yelled.
This was a few months before Dragon Little’s sixth birthday. Dragon Father was at the wheel of Bonny’s Revenge, flying towards their next adventure.
Dragon Little took her favorite sword and laser pistol from the weapons cabinet and put the sword in its scabbard and the pistol in its holster around her belt.
Dragon Father left the wheel and came over to the weapons cabinet. Sometimes the weapon of his choice would appear in his hands. But sometimes he liked to choose weapons that stayed behind after the adventures, weapons they put in the weapons cabinet.
“Oooooh, look at this!” he said, surveying the axes, swords, knives, guns, pistols, and so many more weapons they have gathered over the last few years.
“What’d you like?” Dragon Little peeked from behind his back.
“This!” He picked up a bow and arrow. “I don’t remember the last time I used this!”
“Very mature, Dad!” Dragon Little said derisively.
“What? I think this is the perfect weapon for an adventure in the forest!”
“Very mature, Dad!”
“I’m serious. This is the perfect weapon! I can’t wait to use it!”
“Verrrrry ma--”
“Stop that! I’m serious! I’m taking it, we’re going.”
Dragon Little sighed as if all her father did was ridiculous and as if she had to bear the brunt of that.
Dragon Father looked at her, clearly on the border of anger.
Then, he calmed down and said. “Let’s go! Adventure on Robin Hood Planet awaits!”
