#294: The Tooth Fairy, Part 3

“Aaaaaaaaaah!” Dragon Little was rolling down the steep cliff dressed in and protected by a giant ball of foamy, padded clothes.

The Tooth Fairy flew above her, and next to the Tooth Fairy was Dragon Father on his jetpack.

This had been the adventure Dragon Little had been waiting for six months for.

“It’s going to be all right, little pirate!” The Tooth Fairy boomed at her with her loud voice. “You are now representing all tooth fairies in a battle of honor!”

“Whaaaaaaaaaat?” Dragon Little’s voice was dropping as she kept dropping.

“Remember the rules!” The Tooth Fairy shouted. “The more you bump into others, the higher your score! You have to bump into others 100 times in order to save the honor of the Tooth Fairies! Only you can do that!”

“Whaaaaaaaat?”

“You’ll see, Joy!” Her father called out to her with a  bullhorn that appeared in his hands.

The cliff began to even out, and Dragon Little’s rolling slowed down.

She came to a halt in a small enclosed planet, no more bigger than the deck of Bonny’s Revenge. Ten other fairies were already there, having arrived from steep inclines in all directions. They were all dressed in protective foam balls. Just like Dragon Little, only their feet, hands, and heads were showing.

Dragon Little struggled to come to her feet and looked around.

“The game begins in 10… 9… 8…” the Tooth Fairy boomed again.

“Remember, Joy, bump up against them, make them fall, one hundred times and you win!”

Dragon Little nodded at her father and her lips tightened. She was ready for battle.

“5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Begin!”

Everyone thrust themselves at everyone. It was balls against balls, bouncing against each other, falling, rolling, being unable to get up.

Dragon Little jumped against others in full force every time. For the first few times, she struggled to get up, but then she was a force to behold: Running through all the fairies like a hurricane, making everyone fall. And when she fell herself, she laughed, and immediately rolled to make sure her feet were at the bottom, stood up, and continued to pummel the rest.

It seemed like she was having the fun of her life. She laughed and jumped and battled.

Dragon Little was declared the winner. She said, “Again!” And the battle took place again… and again… and again… For hours.

I have never seen such a silly battle in Dragon Father’s dream before and I do not know how he came up with the idea, but it was the best gift for his daughter that I had seen.

She was joyful the whole day through.

Then, at the end of the day, the Tooth Fairy descended and claimed that Dragon Little had restored the honor of the tooth fairies. She opened a door in the fabric of space, and Dragon Little and Dragon Father said goodbyes and stepped through, returning to the deck of Bonny’s Revenge

There is one more thing to tell about that day, the ending of this story. I will gather my strength and tell it to you tomorrow.
