Dragon Father led the handcuffed Galactic Emperor through the corridors of the Earth Destroyer ship, walking on top of the strewn bodies of the galactic fleet that he and Dragon Little had defeated in the previous few hours.
“Joy! Joy!”
Dragon Little had left the bridge, saying she will hate her father forever, because he had not allowed her to participate in the final battle.
He could not find Dragon Little.
“She must have returned to the ship,” he told the Galactic Emperor, who was walking docilely beside him, as did all villains in Dragon Father’s dreams, once they were defeated and handcuffed.
Dragon Father was right. As he and the Galactic Emperor walked onto the deck of Bonny’s Revenge, their flying pirate ship that awaited in the Destroyer’s docking area, Dragon Little was on the bridge, sulking.
“Joy,” Dragon Father said. “Do you want to take the Galactic Emperor to prison?”
It was always her job to lead the super villain into the Infinite Prison in the belly of Bonny’s Revenge.
Dragon Little shrugged.
“Are you sure?”
She shrugged.
“You might regret it if you don’t.”
She turned her back to him.
“Okay. I’ll do it. Come on.”
The Galactic Emperor took a few more steps, as did Dragon Father. Then Dragon Father disappeared, returning to his waking world. With him, the Earth Destroyer vanished with everyone in it, and, lastly, the Galactic Emperor vanished as well.
Dragon Little saw the two men disappear in front of her. “What!” she shouted. “What!”
She ran over to that spot, as if to make sure the Galactic Emperor was gone.
“I liked him!” she shouted into the air.
And, indeed, as with most villains, she liked them. She liked talking to them in the belly of the ship, as they were incarcerated. But she hadn’t fought him and she hadn’t put her hands on him during the fight or when leading him to prison. Which meant what I knew to be true, but she did not yet… That meant that her liking him did not translate to him staying forever.
And so it was that the Galactic Emperor vanished and did not become Dragon Little’s friend.
