#375: Life and Death, Part 8: The Goblin Village
Dragon Little ran into the village.
Male and female goblins were coming out of huts, looking at what the goblin monster left in his wake. Bodies of dead goblins were strewn all around. Huts were destroyed.
Children ran to their parents. Goblins looked and cried over the bodies of their loved ones.
I have never seen so much devastation and sadness and slaughter in Dragon Father’s dreams.
“Excuse me,” Dragon Little approached a goblin mother hugging her child. “Do you know where the goblin monster came from?”
The goblin mother shook her head.
Dragon Father was right behind Dragon Little, the pain in his leg forgotten. “Joy! Stop it, stop it right now!”
Dragon Little ignored him and ran to a goblin male leaning on the wall of his broken hut. “Do you know where the goblin monster came from?”
The goblin shook his head.
Dragon Father grabbed Dragon Little’s arm. “Stop it, Joy!”
“Let me go!” she tried to shake her hand free violently, but he held tight.
“Joy, I know you feel bad about killing him. But look around! Look how much killing he did! You had to kill him.”
“Let me go!” she shook her hand with all the strength she had, but he held it. “Let me gooooo!” she screamed at him without moving her hand. The scream was heart wrenching. It had so much pain and desperation in it.
Dragon Father stared at Dragon Little. Then, he let her hand go.
“Are you looking for the Goblin Monster’s home?” a goblin came around the corner of a hut. Dragon Little and Dragon Father did not see it, but from my vantage point, high above them, I saw him appear out of nowhere just before he turned that corner.
“Yeah!” Dragon Little said. “Where is it?”
“Right over there!” he pointed to a big goblin hut at the top of a nearby hill. “He lives there with his family.”
Dragon Little began running. “Thank you!” she shouted.
Dragon Father sighed. “Oh, this is not going to end well,” he muttered. And then he began running as well.
Now I will rest. Tomorrow I will tell you what happened at the goblin monster’s hut.
