#73: The Mightiest of Them All

Father and daughter sat across each other on the deck of Bonny’s Revenge, staring into each others’ eyes. Dragon Little won the last match by cheating. Dragon Father had asked for a rematch.

“Ready?” he said and stared right at her.

“Ready,” she nodded and gave him a brave stare, as if she could never lose.

“Go!”

The game began, neither allowed to look away or to blink.

Within seconds, Dragon Little aimed her finger at her father’s eye. He caught it in motion and held it.

“Let go!”

“No! You’re going to poke me again!”

Without looking away, she shot a finger from her free hand at his eye.

Without looking away, he caught it with his free hand.

“Let gooooo!”

“No!”

“LET GO!”

“A-ha!” he let go and stood up, pointing at her. “You blinked!”

“You cheated! You held my hands!”

“Nah, nah, nah. You tried to poke my eyes out. You’re the cheater! I’m the mightiest of them all!” He held both arms to his sides and bent then, as if he was showing his muscles. Which he didn’t really have. Not in the dream, at least. I do not know what he looked like back on Earth.

I’m the mightiest of them all!”

I’m the mightiest of them all!” he corrected her.

I’m the mightiest of them all!” she insisted.

I’m the mightiest of them all!”

I’m the mightiest of them all!”

“Okay! Rematch!” He said.

“Yai, rematch!”

“But this time, no cheating!”

“No cheating!”

They sat back down.

They played this game the entire day because not one game was done without cheating or counter-cheating, or counter-counter-cheating.

In spite of all the cheating, they enjoyed their day. And I enjoyed watching them.
