#41: Where Should We Go?

There was something Dragon Father liked to do ever since I had met him and his little, precious Dragon Little.

He did it when she was two. And she found it funny.

He did it when she was three. And she found it funny.

He did it when she was four and five… and I would be guessing past six, but I would no longer be there to watch them. But at ages four and five she no longer found it funny.

Here is one of those times, when she was three.

In the middle of breakfast, Captain Badass and his crew of evil pirates had fired at Bonny’s Revenge, Dragon Father’s and Dragon Little’s pirate ship, and immediately escaped.

Dragon Father looked at their flying ship disappearing into the sky. “Of course you realize,” he growled, “this means war!” And then he laughed at himself, as if he had told a joke.

“Of course you realize,” Dragon Little copied her father, “This meenz wore!”

“Should we get them, Joy?”

Joy nodded. “Get them!”

“Right!” Dragon Father was at the helm at the ship, hands on the wheel. “Let’s go! We are going to get you some swimming lessons!”

“Dad!”

“Right. No. Let’s go see the waterfalls!”

“Daaaaaad!”

“Okay!” To his touch, the ship began to move, slowly climbing out of the ocean water and into the air. “We gotta go have a picnic!”

“Daaaaaaaaaaad!”

“No, no, no, you’re right! Let’s do somersaults in the air!”

“Dad!” She screamed.

He looked at her, appearing confused.

“Wait, so where are we going?”

“Captain Badass, Dad! Captain Badass!”

“Right! Captain Badass! Let’s gooooo!”

And Bonny’s Revenge thrust forward, flying after the villain’s ship. And so another adventure begun.
