#175: Joy Screams for Ice Cream

It was only a few days after the long day Dragon Little, Dragon Father and I had spent in the amusement park eating an ice cream cone sized for a dragon that 3-year-old Dragon Little and Dragon Father were whizzing away in their flying pirate ship, Bonny’s Revenge, in pursuit of some villains. It would be a slightly long flight to the villains’ planet, and the two were at the helm talking to each other, when suddenly, Dragon Little said, “Dad, I want ice cream.”

“I’m not going to get you ice cream. We’re in the middle of an adventure.”

“I want ice cream! Just make ice cream appear!”

“Don’t be ridiculous, Joy. I can’t make things appear and disappear. And I will not stop the chase just to get you ice cream.”

“Get! Me! Ice cream! Now!”

“I will not get you ice cream whenever you want it. That’s not healthy.”

“Get! Me! Ice cream! Now!”

“No, I’m not going to get some.”

“You will go out and get some!”

Dragon Father sighed. “You know what, I’m going to think about it.”

“You are not going to think about it!” Dragon Little stomped her leg.

“You know what, I think I won’t get ice cream,” he said calmly.

“You will you will you will!”

“No. I’m not going to get ice cream. And that’s that.”

Dragon Little sulked a bit, made a face, and then looked up at her father. “Okay. You can think about it.”
