#129: The Earth Is Round, Part 6: The Chase

Ten Martian Ice Pirates ships sped towards Bonny’s Revenge. Dragon Little, only four and a half years old, was on it, her father having disappeared just seconds ago, leaving his daughter to fend for herself alone in the Dream.

Dragon Little did not seem overly worried, and helmed the ship particularly slow, allowing the pirates to catch up.

The ships surrounded Bonny’s Revenge to its left, right, and below.

“Surrender your ship or we will fire!”

“What? What?” Dragon Little shouted as if she didn’t hear.

“On the count of three!”

“I can’t hear you!”

“One…”

Dragon Little took her hands off the wheel and shrugged at them, feigning innocence.

“Two…”

Dragon Little waved at them.

“Three!”

Dragon Little grabbed the wheel and tightened her grip. Bonny’s Revenge flew past the ships, even as the “FIRE!” was heard.

The ships missed and immediately chased Bonny’s Revenge

The distance between them grew and grew. Then, suddenly, Dragon Little slowed quickly, and the Martian Ice Pirate ships found Dragon Little in the middle of them once again.

“Helloooooo there! Can you fly as fast as a dragon? Let’s see!”

Once again, even as the pirates aimed their guns at her, the ship sped forward and past them.

The chase continued in this way for quite a few minutes, as Dragon Little sped past their range, then surprised them by coming back to talk to them.

After half an hour, she grew tired and simply sped past them until they could no longer see her.

She found a hiding spot in the tunnels of Mars’ North Pole glaciers and went to sleep, no doubt expecting to wake up when her father reappears.

It had been a long day.
